karfas – the closest beach to the hotels; sandy, with services and chairs for rent; popular with families for its gentle waters and shallow shore
mirsinidi – cool little beach with rocky outcroppings to explore, off the side of the main road. No services though—bring a towel and your water shoes
komi – long sandy beach with services and restaurants; a popular spot for day drinking in the sun
vroulidia – tiny beach with a little taverna at the top of the cliff leading down to the beach and a pulley system to deliver cold beer down to the beach—true greek ingenuity
nagos – the beach kira grew up on, a five-minute drive from her yiayia's house; a small beach bar, but no lounge chairs—bring a towel
yiosonas – the other beach close to home for kira—coin flip—are we going to nagos or yiosonas? no services here anymore though—they took the chairs and moved to nagos
agia fotini – long, sandy beach with plenty of services, lounge chairs, and restaurants
mavra volia – the most famous beach on chios, with large black volcanic rocks; big, and picturesque, but only a small snack bar in terms of services; bring your water shoes
agia markella – excellent beach near the holy site of agia markella's martyrdom; chairs, services, and a great taverna
